Primary Care Protocols Project of the Center for Excellenc on Transgender Health, University of California, San Francisco. Protocols Project, launched in April 2011. In the summer of 2008, both the American Medical Association and American Psychological Association passed ground-breaking resolutions affirming the legitimacy of treatments for transgender patients and the necessity for insurance coverage by both private and public insurance providers.
